How it works

Build a deck. Roster a class. Watch them play.

From blank canvas to a lesson your students are playing — to live monitoring, to per-tile reports — in one tool, on any device.

01
Step 1 · Pick a starter

Start blank, browse examples, or paste a list.

Open the studio and pick a starting point. A blank deck if you have a clear idea, an example deck to fork, or paste a 2-column list (vocab, spelling, Quizlet exports) and get a playable deck in seconds.

Auto-detects tabs, commas, and pipes. Pick the tile type — flashcard, multi-choice, fill-the-blank — and you're dropped straight into the studio to polish.

Step 2 · Drop in tiles

Drag interactive tiles onto the canvas.

Twenty-two tile types live in the palette — multi-choice, flip, drag-and-drop, matching pairs, categorize zones, audio, TTS, spinner, timer, and more. Drag any one onto your canvas and it drops in at the cursor, ready to edit.

Tiles snap into a clean grid. Reorder by dragging. Duplicate with a click. Mix freely — a single lesson can hold every type at once.

Step 3 · Customize in place

Edit text, add images, attach audio — right on the tile.

Click any tile to open it. Type the prompt. Drop in an image from your computer or paste a URL — it uploads to R2 in the background.

Audio attaches via upload, and a TTS Button tile reads any text aloud through the browser. Every change auto-saves the second you make it.

Step 4 · Roster a class (optional)

One join code. No student emails.

Create a class, get a six-character join code, share it with the room. Students go to /join/<code>, type a nickname, and they're in. No email, no parental-consent paperwork — COPPA-safe by design.

Skip this step if you're sharing publicly. Use it when you want plays to attribute back to specific students for the reports later.

Step 5 · Hit publish

One link, one PIN, one QR code.

When the lesson's ready, hit publish. LearnTiles hands back a share link with a six-character PIN and a QR code. Set an expiry, cap max plays, toggle shuffle and show-score per share.

Drop the link anywhere — Google Classroom, Canvas, Teams, email, or the smart board. The lesson plays the moment students open it.

Step 6 · Students play

Any device. No accounts. No installs.

Students tap the link on a phone, Chromebook, iPad, or laptop. The lesson loads in the browser — no app store, no signup wall, no friction.

Tiles are touch-friendly by default. Drag-and-drop, sort, and matching pairs all work on a Chromebook touchscreen. It just plays.

Step 7 · Watch live

See what they're learning, tile by tile.

Open the deck's Live page and every active session shows up — progress bar, score, where they are right now. Polled every few seconds while the tab is visible, paused when you switch away.

See who finished, who's stuck, who's flying. Spot misconceptions before students log off — and reteach on the spot.

Step 8 · Read the reports

Per-student stats. Per-tile accuracy. Common wrong answers.

After the bell, the deck's Reports page aggregates every play. Per-student rows sorted by plays / average / best / last seen. Per-tile cards ordered worst-first so the questions tripping people up surface to the top.

Filter by class roster, by individual, or by date — last 7 days, 30 days, 90 days, or all time. Click a student to see their full history in a slide-over.
